A Stitch at a Time: From Scavenger Hunt Clues to NTYxS
It all started with a box of memories. Helping a friend declutter after her mother's passing, I was surrounded by the quiet hum of a life well-lived. Framed cross-stitches adorned the walls, testaments to a cherished hobby. Among the treasures, a large piece of unused cross-stitch fabric sparked a light bulb moment. As a scavenger hunt designer, I saw a unique opportunity – a hidden clue stitched onto a piece of art!
Despite being a complete beginner, I dove in. Now, full disclosure: my initial attempt was...enthusiastic. Armed with basic knowledge and a whole lot of floss (turns out, six strands are a bit excessive!), I stitched with a delight that produced a beautiful (if somewhat tightly woven and definitely messy) piece.
The scavenger hunt was a hit, and the joy of creating something functional and decorative sparked a new passion. Over the next few months, cross-stitch became my go-to for unique, personalized gifts.
One such gift, a cheeky "No Pendejos" sign for a friend who deeply values his peace and quiet, took an unexpected turn. A casual post on Instagram blew up, and suddenly, everyone wanted their own stitched sign. This overwhelming response, combined with my own growing love for the craft, led to the birth of NTYxS.
As a paint-by-number creative, cross-stitching has become my personal meditation - a way to engage my mind and hands simultaneously and provide a sense of immense satisfaction with every completed piece.
I'm thrilled to share this love with the world in a way that's fun and accessible for curious beginners. With simple patterns, limited color palettes, and frames included, NTYxS offers a modern twist on a timeless craft. I hope you'll find as much joy in stitching with NTYxS as I do.
